Hey! I’m Nick Hancock, your UK Athletics Licensed and UESCA Ultrarunning certified online running coach based in the UK!

First and foremost, I am a family man with two young sons (whose names, Max and Miles, inspired the name of my coaching business!) and husband to my amazing wife, Alyson! I have worked in senior corporate roles for global organisations, so I understand the challenges and constraints that people face with the pressures of everyday life and fitting in training for your big races.

Secondly, I am a runner! It is undeniably part of my identity and I love running races whenever family life allows. I’ve been fortunate enough to run all manner of distances from 5k up to ultramarathon, with trail and ultramarathon training being my sweet spot! My many race wins and podium appearances support the success of my training methods.

My mission as your personal online running coach is to help people with busy lives—like you!—run better than you could ever imagine! My years of experience allow me to help you find the perfect balance between everyday responsibilities and your passion for running.

My training services as a running coach are available to everyone no matter your location thanks to the help of many online resources. My training methods are enhanced by top-of-the-line coaching technologies, private Facebook groups, and weekly check-ins–all via my running and Strength Training App.

With me as your running coach, you will see instant progress, as my sole focus is on getting YOU results. Whilst other coaches charge for their time, I am always on hand to help with accessible communication channels.

Everyone’s body responds differently to exercise. That's why as your online running coach, I dedicate myself to customising my methods to work for you.



I don't believe in huge mileage weeks. This simply isn't sustainable—and definitely not enjoyable—for us mere mortals with jobs and kids! We can’t always be on the go. Our bodies need rest too!

We aren’t the same as elite athletes who are able to do 100+ mile weeks because that’s part of their job. The rest of us simply can't manage that volume of running without repercussions such as burnout, illness, injury, and even reversing the effects of your training. Pushing yourself to the point of exhaustion will just make you a WORSE runner, and it will kill your motivation too!


While I prescribe easy runs for the majority of my clients' weekly training, I am a huge advocate of speed work at all distances: including ultras.

Increasing the distance of your speed training is an essential part of my training methods, but you have to start somewhere and gradually work up to meeting your running goals. It is counterproductive to begin speed training at long distances as that is sure to strain your body and leave you with pain and injury.

My athletes have shattered their personal best records at all distances due to what I call my "wardrobe" of coaching methodologies. Getting faster requires more than just pure speed, however. My training also improves your endurance, so you run faster longer.


You can more easily achieve your goals of running faster and further by including strength training in your running workouts. Strength training benefits runners of all shapes and sizes. This training improves your ability to run by increasing your endurance and teaching you a better running form which is essential for reaching your goals.

No matter what, you should focus on your strength training to build up your body’s endurance. With my convenient strength coaching app, you can turn into a stronger runner and help keep injury at bay!

Strong muscles help protect bones and joints from the adverse effects of high-impact exercises like long-distance running.

Strength training not only advances your running speed and distance. The broader health benefits of strength training are scientifically proven!

Strength training has the added benefit of stronger bones, which is important for bodies as they age.
